Brittani Murray works for the United Steelworkers Union in its Civil and Human Rights Department and facilitates conversations surrounding racial justice, historical legislation, intersectionality, LGBTQ+ issues, language, and education. She hails from a long lineage of union workers and carries that torch by being a member of the United Steelworkers LGBTQ+ Advisory Committee, Local Union 3657, and a delegate to the Allegheny/Fayette County Central Labor Council. She is also Co-President on the Executive Board of the AFL-CIO Constituency Group, Pride at Work. In this position, she works to build worker coalitions and lobby policy toward the betterment of LGBTQ+ union members, nationally.
Brittani is a passionate Pittsburgh activist/organizer, having organized and participated in #blacklivesmatter and #translivesmatter protests/rallies. Brittani sits on the board of Take Action Advocacy Group, a community organization dedicated to advancing the political and residential welfare of marginalized intersections in over 130 municipalities in Western Pennsylvania. Over the years, she's facilitated many topics that disproportionately impact BIPOC communities and has been featured in articles and panels on a myriad of issues, from environmental racism, education, voters' rights, intersectional feminism, LGBTQ+ issues and so much more.
