Pride at Work Labor Caucus

Brasilia 3, Friday, January 24th from 7:00 PM - 8:15 PM

We have fought all our lives for the right to be seen, heard and employed with equality, dignity and respect. And now the incoming Presidential administration has focused their sights on our LGBTQIA+ family. But by joining together in unions, workers upend the power imbalance between employees and CEOs, and the working class and billionaires. The labor movement is THE organizing vehicle with unity, vision, and strength that can not only protect and care for LGBTQIA+ workers and our families, but advance our rights and livelihoods.

We invite you to join experienced, nationally-recognized LGBTQIA+ union leaders for a day-long Labor Institute to build queer worker power in our workplaces and hold the line against fascism. Our training will provide tools that will help you: learn how to win better wages and benefits; protect yourself and your co-workers from discrimination, regardless of whether legislators, courts or government agencies actively work against us; win gender-affirming and abortion healthcare, even in states where protections have been banned and outlawed; protect LGBTQIA+ students by building coalitions with parents, educators and school staff unions, and community; learn organizing skills that can apply to any issue, campaign or election; and craft your messaging for recruiting activists and allies and effective media coverage.

Don’t miss this unique opportunity to sharpen your organizing skills, learn how to join or form a union, and plug into the working class movement to create an economy and communities where everyone can thrive, no exceptions. Join Pride at Work, AFL-CIO and unions including UNITE HERE, Starbucks Workers United, SEIU, UFCW, NEA, AFA-CWA, and USW at our all-day Labor Institute!
